1909-S 1C VDB MS65 Red and Brown PCGS. Centered mintmark. This lustrous and glossy 1909-S VDB is coruscated with blue overtones that allow brick-red color to share territory throughout both sides. The strike is razor-sharp while the fields and devices are nearly free of marks, save for a shallow, well-hidden abrasion on the upper cheekbone. A solitary, pinpoint carbon exists above Y of LIBERTY. PCGS reports a mere 66 numerically finer pieces in Red and Brown.
