Lincoln Cents
1925-D 1C MS65 Red PCGS. The year 1925 produced two of the most strike-challenged branch mint issues in the entire Lincoln cent series -- the 1925-D and the 1925-S. It is a close contest which is the most poorly made issue. The arm's length appeal of this Gem 1925-D is indeed an anomaly, with attractive, copper-orange surfaces and bright mint luster. A glass reveals a reasonably sharp strike and only minor die erosion. Tiny marks come from the original planchet, which was (as usual) not fully struck up. Housed in a previous generation green label holder, this 1925-D is virtually unimprovable. Population: 70 in 65 (3 in 65+) Red, 2 finer (10/17).
