Liberty Nickels
1883 5C With Cents MS66 NGC. The strike is remarkably sharp on this frosted and lustrous first-year Liberty nickel. The With Cents variant defies its large mintage (more than 16 million pieces struck) in high Uncirculated grades, where it is scarcer than the more-famous No Cents variety. Severe die cracks encircle both sides of this Premium Gem coin, with little effect on the sharp strike that provides nearly full details on Liberty's hair and the wreath including the troublesome ear of corn. Faint iridescent colors are especially evident at the central reverse. Census: 43 in 66, 4 finer (10/17).
