1806 50C 6 Over Inverted 6, O-112, T-12, R.4, VF35 NGC. Tompkins Die Stage 2/1. A heavy vertical crack travels through the 8 up through the portrait. Another runs from the rim to star 11 and into the field. Once thought to be a 9, researchers have determined the underdigit is an errant inverted 6. All design elements maintain good detail despite considerable friction circulation. Steel-gray patina covers this early half dollar.
