Bust Half Dollars
1820 50C Curl Base 2, Small Date, O-103a, R.2, AU58 NGC. A sharp die crack runs from the edge near star 11 to the top of 1 in the date to define the late die stage O-103a. The die marriage is the only 1820 variety with a non-overdated Small Date with a Curl Base 2. This still-lustrous, lilac-gray example with pale-gold at the border is sharply struck and lightly toned. A number of deep-gray spots and build-up are scattered across the portrait and several of the obverse stars.
