1876-CC T$1 Doubled Die Reverse AU58 NGC. FS-801. Type One Obverse and Reverse as always for this variety. Prominent die doubling is evident at the lower reverse, especially on the branch that is widely doubled. Slight doubling is also noted below the eagle's beak, the right (facing) wing tip, and in the letters below the eagle. The letters in the motto are also doubled. This near-Mint example exhibits slight field-to-device contrast with faint champagne toning. A lovely example of this popular and elusive variety. Census: 6 in 58, 9 finer (10/17).
