1879-CC $1 AU55 PCGS. Normal mintmark. Speckled deep-gray patina dots the surfaces on both sides of this silver-gray Carson City semikey dollar. Remnants of prooflike surface remain at the margins, while few abrasions exist and Liberty's cheek is clean. Soft mint luster glows from the Choice fields and sheltered areas of the devices. Just 756,000 pieces were struck in the second year of Morgan dollar production at the Carson City Mint due to lack of silver bullion.
