1879-O $1 MS65 PCGS. Not since 1861 had the New Orleans Mint engaged in coining operations, but it returned in 1879 to strike a respectable 2.8 million Morgan dollars. The 1879-O is scarce but obtainable in MS65, while finer examples are rare. This remarkable Gem is fully struck, including above the ear, on the breast feathers, and talons. Radiantly frosted and untoned. PCGS notes 26 finer grading events (10/17).
