Modern Bullion Coins
1999-W $10 Quarter-Ounce Gold Eagle, Unfinished Proof Dies, FS-401, MS69 NGC. The West Point Mint was the producer of proof Gold Eagles in 1999. This variety was created when a mintmarked but unpolished proof die was used briefly for regular coinage. The coin is sharply struck and displays satiny golden luster. A couple of microscopic ticks on Liberty's bust determine the grade, and there is a small planchet defect in the far left obverse margin.
