1911-D $2 1/2 AU58 NGC. The motifs are sharply struck on this near-Mint Denver key issue, although the eagle's shoulder shows a bit of weakness at its highest point. The headdress is well-defined. The low mintage of 55,680 pieces makes the 1911-D the scarcest Indian quarter eagle by far. This example approaches full Mint State with only light marks and pleasing orange-gold color. The visible mintmark is an important attribute.
