Three Dollar Gold Pieces
1854-O $3 XF40 PCGS. CAC. Variety 2. Bowers and Winter explain: "Soon after they were struck the 1854-O $3 pieces were placed into circulation, where they soon became worn. Distribution from the New Orleans Mint was widespread, including through ships in the coastwise and international trade calling at New Orleans." Detail is typically shallow on the obverse lettering and wreath ribbon but good elsewhere. A pleasing orange-gold single-year type coin. Encapsulated in an old green label holder.
