Commemorative Silver
1936 50C Long Island MS67+ PCGS. CAC. Distinctively tab-toned from its original holder, this high-end Superb Gem example of the Long Island Tercentenary half dollar celebrates the Dutch heritage if Long Island. The conjoined portraits of a Dutch settler and an Algonquin Indian are frost-white and nearly entirely free of marks (highly unusual for this carelessly produced issue). Iridescent colors lurk behind tobacco-brown toning on the obverse, while the Dutch sailing vessel on the reverse is immersed in rainbow hues. None are certified finer at PCGS. Population: 9 in 67+, 0 finer. CAC: 60 in 67, 0 finer (10/17).
