Andronicus II Palaeologus, with Michael IX. 1282-1328. AV Hyperpyron (24mm, 4.05 g, 6h). Thessalonica mint. Struck circa 1303-1320. Half-length figure of the Virgin Mary, orans, within city walls with four towers; K–Λ above walls / Christ standing facing, blessing Andronicus II and Michael IX kneeling to either side. DOC –; PCPC p. 45, 198 (cf. 208 for type); SB 2396. VF, toned, flan splits and edge clipping as typical for issue.
