AUSTRALIA: George V, 1910-1936, AR threepence, 1922/1(m), KM-24, rare overdate, bent, PCGS graded Very Good details, R. The most likely explanation as to how this rare overdate was produced is by hand-stamping a numeral 2 onto one of the seven 1921 reverse dies in stock in mid-January 1922 at the Melbourne Mint, perhaps as an experiment to test the possibility of using some of the newly-pressed but obsolete reverse dies. Approximately 800 specimens are thought to exist and thus one of the great rarities in Australian numismatics.
