SHAKYA: Punchmarked, ca. 600-500 BC, AR double karshapana (6.87g), Ra-534, central punch two back-to-back crescents, each with central pellet, with 6 banker's marks around, similar to examples found in the Narhan and Lumbini hoards, choice EF, ex Paul Stevens Collection. This is the only series from what is now modern Nepal, from the Shakya state, with its capital at Kapilavatsu, about 15 miles west of Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha.
