CALABRIA. Tarentum. Ca. 280-272 BC. AR drachm (15mm, 3.15 gm, 1h). NGC Choice AU★ 5/5 - 5/5. Neumenios, magistrate. Head of Athena right, wearing helmet decorated with Scylla / Owl standing right, head facing, on olive branch; NEYMHNIOΣ to left, API to right. Vlasto 1062-3; HN Italy 1015. SNG ANS 1314. Minor die break on helmet, but an absolutely wonderful "owl," with chest and wing feathers carefully engraved and distinct. Beautifully toned.
