ZEUGITANA. Carthage. Ca. 300 BC. AR half-shekel (22mm, 4.44 gm, 12h). NGC Choice AU 5/5 - 3/5. Head of Tanit left, wreathed in grain, wearing pendant earring and necklace / Horse standing right with head reverted. Cf. SNG Copenhagen 142 (2/3 shekel, 4.93 gm). Evidently quite rare, possibly unpublished! Somewhat porous metal, otherwise crisply struck from dies of pleasing style.
