MACEDONIAN KINGDOM. Alexander III the Great (336-323 BC). AV stater (18mm, 8.50 gm, 2h). Fine, surface marks. Late lifetime or early posthumous issue of Aradus, ca. 328-320 BC. Head of Athena right, wearing triple-crested Corinthian helmet pushed back on head, the bowl decorated with a coiled snake; Δ between crest and helmet / AΛ-EΞANΔPOY, Nike standing left, wreath in right hand, stylis cradled in left arm; A above P monogram under wing to right. Apparently unpublished. Cf. Price 3306 (Phoenician inscription under wing to left). Rather rough surfaces overall.
