MACEDONIAN KINGDOM. Philip III Arrhidaeus (323-317 BC). AV stater (18mm, 8.57 gm, 11h). NGC Choice AU 5/5 - 2/5. Sardes, ca. 323-318 BC. Head of Athena right, wearing crested Corinthian helmet pushed back on head, the bowl ornamented with coiled serpent / ΦIΛIΠΠOY, Nike standing left, holding wreath and stylis, TI in left field, star below left wing. Price P84. Apparently quite rare, with only one other example having been sold in major auctions since 2000. A few surface contact marks and abrasions.
