SELEUCID KINGDOM. Antiochus VI Dionysus (144-142 BC). AR tetradrachm (31mm, 16.50 gm, 12h). NGC Choice AU 5/5 - 2/5. Antioch, dated SE 169 (144/3 BC). Radiate and diademed head of the youthful Antiochus VI to right / ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΑΝΤΙΟΧΟΥ above, ΕΠΙΦΑΝΟΥΣ ΔΙΟΝΥΣΟΥ below, the Dioscuri galloping left; below, date ΘΞΡ; to right ΤΡΥ over monogram of ΙΑΡ and ΣΤΑ; all within laurel wreath. SC 2000.2f. SMA 219. Scarce! Somewhat mottled surfaces, mostly confined to reverse, but possessing a boldly struck portrait of this ephemeral ruler.
