Charles III gold 8 Escudos 1785/4 So-DA AU50 PCGS, Santiago mint, KM27, Fr-15. A seldom-encountered example of this overdate variety, featuring the 4 clearly under the later-engraved 5. Only a brush of light wear across the high points, with a good deal of mint luster remaining. A very minor flan flaw is noted behind the bust, but does not detract overall from its appearance. A charming specimen.
