Philip V gold Cob 8 Escudos ND (1743-1746) XF40 NGC, Nuevo Reino mint, KM24, Fr-6. Colombia's cob coinage of 8 escudos lasted for a very short period of a little over a decade and, as with all other issues within the cob style of production, the flans and strikes are extremely crude. The present example conveys just that, but overall presents good detail and a fair amount of the legend being visible. The date is off the flan, but it can be placed within the final period of Philip V's reign. Little real wear with solid luster remaining. Very rare offering.
