Napoleon III Proof 50 Centimes 1853-A PR64 PCGS, Paris mint, KM794.1, Gad-414. The first year of the type and extremely rare as a proof, this near-Gem features supremely reflective fields and subtlety frosted devices. One of only two graded by PCGS (both PR64) and just the second piece we've seen offered at auction; the other, an NGC-graded PR64 Cameo, brought 4,200 Euros in an auction held in Monaco earlier this year.
