Republic gold 50 Francs 1896-A UNC Details (Surface Hairlines) NGC, Paris mint, KM831, Fr-591. From a fairly short series, this rare piece features a mintage of just 800 specimens. Stunningly lustrous and with very little evidence of the hairlines in its designation, this impressive example is sure to generate a good deal of interest. For comparison, a lightly cleaned NGC AU58 realized a hammer of $3,000 in our 2013 Long Beach auction (sale 3026, lot 24589).
