Saxony. Xavier Convention Taler 1765-EDC MS64+ NGC, Dresden mint, KM976, Dav-2678. The second surviving son of August III, the King of Poland, Xavier ruled the Electorate of Saxony along with his sister-in-law for five years, serving as regent for his infant nephew, the future Friedrich August III. An exceptional, near-gem example, with a pleasing deep cabinet tone. The nicest of this type---and the first of this date---which we have offered.
