Great Britain
Edward VI (1547-1553) Crown 1551 VF35 NGC, London mint, S-2478, North-1933. Fine Silver issue, third period, Y mm. Obv. The young king, holding sword, riding horse, clad in decorative mantle, right. Rev. Coat-of-arms over long cross fourchée. An enticing and exceptionally pleasing example of this early crown, which did see a fair degree of gentle circulation and which boasts a charming cabinet tone acquired long ago. An impressive piece, and one which should generate a good deal of attention from prospective bidders.
