James I (1603-25) gold Laurel 1623-24 AU55 NGC, London mint, KM75, S-2638C, North-2114. Obv. Laureate, draped and armored fourth bust left; XX (mark of value) to right. Rev. Crowned coat-of-arms over long cross fourchée. Displaying bold legends and little visible highpoint wear, with some strike doubling that softens James' portrait and evidence of planchet irregularities in the lower quadrants of the shield on the reverse.
