Victoria gold Sovereign 1850 (8/5) AU55 PCGS, Royal mint, KM736.1, S-3852C, Fr-387e. 8/5 overdate. An extremely rare variety, featuring the 8 inexplicably struck over a 5. A minimal number of examples escaped the mint before this mistake was noticed, making the type very difficult to encounter. Some scattered marks and light evidence of wear, but a highly pleasing representation for this glaring error.
