N.M. Rothschild & Sons gold 5 Ounce Bar ND XF, 155.52g, 54mm X 31mm, Ahlers-80 (No. A 500). An enigmatic example from this ever-popular series of gold bars, likely poured in the late-19th or early-20th centuries. It features an extremely rare styling of the Rothschild logo and is of 0.996 fineness, also unusual. Although there are a few errant contact marks throughout the surfaces, the Ahlers catalog notes that this may very well be the rarest Rothschild bar in existence.
