Philip V 4 Reales 1732-Mo VF Details (Sea Salvaged, Cleaned) NGC, Mexico City mint, KM94. First milled type struck; minted without assayer initials and considered a pattern or trial by some. Very rare, this one of only seven examples known, and is only the second we've offered, the last being sold as part of the illustrious collection of specialist Isaac Rudman. Despite its long-term exposure to salt water, this example remains rather attractive all considered, with moderate gray surfaces that show evidence of even granularity. Well-centered as well, both sides display detail that remains very sharp, with full legibility of the legends and only minor incompleteness in the shield from the strike. All considered, a very rare opportunity for the expert collector of Mexican coinage or shipwreck treasures.
