Nobel Committee Royal Academy of Sciences gold Medal (1979) MS67 NGC, 26.5mm/20g. 23K. Awarded annually to five members of the Physics and Chemistry prize selection committees. A second example of this type, receiving the same Superb Gem grade as the previous lot, but clearly the finer of the two, and easily the finest example we've encountered. Almost pristine, no marks are visible and the only variation is a light spot of coppery tone over ALFR· NOBEL. The far right hallmark on the back reads "E10", which helps to determine the date of issue. The winner of the 1979 Nobel Prize for Chemistry was Herbert Charles Brown, an English-born American chemist, for his work with organoboranes.
