Laureate head of Apollo Maleatas right / Asclepius seated left, holding long scepter in left hand, extending right over serpent that coils to left before him; hound lying to right below him; ΘΕ beneath seat, E in right field. BCD 1240. Jameson 2107. SNG Lockett 2508 (same dies). Very rare and seldom-offered, and one of the most beautiful issues of the third century BC in exemplary grade. Well struck in sound metal and beautifully toned.
