Philippe IV (1285-1314) gold Chaise d'or ND MS61 NGC, from 22 August 1303, 7.06g, Fr-253, Dup-209. + PhILIPPVS : DЄI : GRA : FRAИChORVM : REX, king seated facing on Gothic throne with lis-tipped scepter in right hand and lis in outstretched left; all within tressure of seven arches; each arch ending in lis and trefoils in spandrels / + XP'C : VINCIT : XP'C : RЄGNAT : XP'C : IMPЄRAT, cross fleurée with lis in quarters; all within quadrilobe with arches ending in trefoils, crowns in spandrels. Beautifully toned and featuring a superb strike, this piece exudes charm and originality. Some faint handling is noted along the surfaces, commensurate with the certified grade.
