Henri II gold Double Henri d'or 1558-H MS62 NGC, La Rochelle mint, 6.86g, Fr-367, Dup-971B. A very rare one-year legend variety of this mint alone with the king's titles as "REX HERCVS II." A wolf's head privy mark is noted above the king's bust along with the typical sun mintmark on the reverse. The present offering is an outstanding representative of this singular issue, superbly struck and highly lustrous.
