Edward IV (First Reign, 1461-1470) gold 1/2 Ryal 1466-1469 MS63 PCGS, London mint, Light coinage of 1464-1470, Crown mm, S-1959, N-1554. King standing facing in ship, holding sword and shield; Є on banner at stern, rose on hull / Rose in radiant sun over floriate cross, crowns and lions in angles; trefoils in spandrels. A stunning example of this scarce type, well-struck and highly lustrous. The brightness is subdued only slightly by antique cabinet tone. Despite minor irregularities in the shape of the planchet along the edges, the full module is present and nicely centered.
