William & Mary gold 2 Guineas 1694/3 MS61 NGC, KM482.1, S-3424. A particularly fine survivor from this beloved co-regency period, possessing wonderful reflective gleam in the fields and a mixture of bright orange-gold and reddish tone that adds considerable warmth to the surfaces. Consistent with the qualifications of the assigned grade, light handling is present over both sides, however all instances remain ideally blended, with no outlying marks that capture the eye's attention. In the centers of the design, a faint wisp of cabinet friction and strike incompleteness result in a touch of softness, but its influence on the overall appearance is minor. All considered, one of the prettiest examples of this short-lived type that we've seen, with the added quality of being a top-tier graded example (and the single finest at NGC), only surpassed by a single MS62 in the PCGS census.
