George II gold 2 Guineas 1738 MS63 NGC, Royal mint, KM576, S-3667B (incorrect on NGC insert). Rarely surpassed quality for this young-head design type, featuring bold and complete detail over both sides and surfaces that glow as a result of alluring reddish-orange tone and buoyant mint bloom. Comparable to the last MS63 we sold in August of 2014 for $14,100, with surfaces that are slightly less reflective in the fields (that example was given the Prooflike designation by NGC), but highpoints that are better executed, with no evidence of planchet adjustments running through George's bust.
