Gabriel Bethlen gold Ducat 1629/8-NB MS61 NGC, Nagybánya mint, KM191, Fr-366, Resch-498. Obv. Bareheaded, draped, and mantled bust right, wearing high collar. Rev. The Madonna seated facing within mandorla, holding scepter and Holy Infant who holds orb; garnished coat-of-arms below. An exceedingly lustrous and blazing example, featuring lustrous surfaces and a radiating brilliance. Some light hairlines and minor flan waviness are noted, but in no way detract from the stunning ocular experience which this highly pleasing piece imparts to the viewer. Seldom encountered in such a wondrous state of preservation, this specimen is currently tied for the finest certified by NGC, with none having been graded by PCGS.
