MACEDONIAN KINGDOM. Alexander III the Great (336-323 BC). AR tetradrachm (17.11 gm). NGC AU 5/5 - 3/5, Fine Style. Late posthumous issue of Lycia, Phaselis, dated Civic Year 20 (199/8 BC). Head of Heracles right, wearing lion skin headdress / Zeus enthroned left, holding eagle and scepter; Φ in left field, date K (with loop at back?) under throne. Price 2862 variant (simple K under throne). Evidently extremely rare! Struck on a broad flan from dies of pleasing style.
