GRECO-BACTRIAN KINGDOM. Eucratides I the Great (ca. 170-145 BC). AR tetradrachm (35mm, 16.29 gm, 12h). VF, flan flaw. Diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Eucratides right, wearing crested Bactrian helmet adorned with bull's horn and ear / ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΜΕΓΑΛΟY horizontally above, the Dioscuri on rearing horses right, each holding palm fronds and spears, PK monogram behind, ΕΥΚΡΑΤΙΔΟY horizontally in exergue. HGC 12 --, cf. 131 (curved legends); Bopearachchi --, cf. 61 (same). SNG ANS --. An extremely rare variety with horizontal legends across reverse fields, one of perhaps four known specimens. Overall porosity, central reverse delamination or flan flaw.
