Montreal & Lachine Railroad Company Token XF45 Brown NGC, B-530. This token was issued by the Montreal & Lachine Railroad Co. The primary purpose was to make it convenient for the Canadian natives and workmen who worked on the Lachine Canal to use a metal token instead of paper ticket. The tokens were collected as a ticket for transportation and strung on a wire by the conductor. By 1862 the remaining pieces were in the hands of the Montreal & Champlain Railway and melted down.
