India Reserve Bank of India 1000 Rupees ND (1954-57) Pick 46s Jhunjhunwalla 6.9.1 Specimen. A grandly sized Specimen with all zero serial numbers and a single SPECIMEN stamp over the watermark area. The multicolor underprints remain excellent on this Bombay issue, which was most likely given to various banks to serve as an example to check against counterfeits. Not unlike the most recent Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes, these designs (along were higher denominations) were demonetized in 1978. As these notes represented a far higher purchasing power back then, most were redeemed, leaving very few examples of any type extant. PMG Very Fine 20 Net, previously mounted, edge damage. Estimate: 10000-15000 USD
