Spain Banco de Espana 500 Pesetas 9.1.1940 (1945) Pick 119a. An example printed in Italy after the conclusion of the Spanish Civil War. These were authorized by the government of Francisco Franco, who probably still had a contract with the Italian printer. It is the second highest denomination from the first Calcografia & Cartevalori, Milano series. Like the 1000 Pesetas note of the same series, the serial number is also printed on the back.
