The highest denomination from the series and with a low authorization of notes, printed three different times. Larger format note. 150 issued notes were authorized in April 1873, an additional 350 in April 1879, and 500 in December 1882. The official color is purple, but it has a brown tone to it. Full frame with CIEN face protector. Purple back. Some minor India paper wrinkling. A beautiful India paper proof pair. Like all of these record book proofs, unique in this format and context.
