COLOMBIA. 1765-JV 8 Escudos. Santa Fe de Nuevo Reino (Bogotá) mint. Carlos III (1759-1788). Restrepo M71.6a. AU-55 (PCGS).
Choice medium yellow gold with a good deal of luster, particularly on the reverse. Aside from a little nick on the king's nose, no other flaws are noteworthy. Well struck and well centered with great color and surface quality. The left obverse field shows swelling, and the reverse die is cracked beneath the NR mintmark to the fleece. Unusually nice.
