Spanish New World (Guatemala?). (1746-59) uniface restrike of an 8 Escudos reverse. Silver. SP-64 (PCGS).
Plain edge. Coined from an unfinished master die of a Ferdinand VI type 8 escudos, showing neither mintmark nor assayer initials. Boldly struck with a collar on a relatively modern press. The die face shows some rust scattered across the fields. Nicely toned in deep opalescent gray with attractive luster. The blank reverse shows some marks and hairlines. Interesting and attractive.
From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian and Ecuadorian Coins.
Estimate: $1000.00- $2000.00
