FRANCE. Louis d'Or, 1670-A. Paris Mint Louis XIV (1643-1715). NGC AU-58.
Fr-423; KM-219.1; Gad-247. A decent example of the "louis d'or juvénile à la tête nue" struck at Paris 1668-80. Much scarcer than the preceding "louis d'or à la mèche longue" or the succeeding "louis d'or à l'écu", and most survivors have been mounted, which this one has not. Good strike with no apparent defects. NGC AU-58.
