FRANCE. Ecu, 1722-B. Rouen Mint. Louis XV (1715-74). NGC AU-58.
Dav-1328; KM-459.2; Gad-319; Dupl-1665; Ciani-2107; Droulers-744; DFW-445. An "écu de France" struck over a 1718-C "écu de France-Navarre" during the minority of Louis XV. Gadoury notes that all known specimens of this date are restruck. Traces of the undertype are clear (the date and mint can be made out) but the second strike is clear. Lightly toned with much luster. Above average and attractive. NGC AU-58.
