S-3151; North-2649; KM-383. Struck for Charles II after the death of his father on January 30, 1649. Well centered on a broad octagonal flan. RARE post-mortem issue with an excellent provenance. Signs of an old plug at six o'clock skillfully done now toned over matching the rest of the coin. Deep attractive old envelope tone with iridescent hues when tilted in the light.
