51 mm. 64.96 gms. Laureate bust of Napoleon III left, "NAPOLEON III EMPEREUR" around, by H. Ponscarme; Reverse: "EXPOSITION UNIVERSELLE DE MDCCCLXVII A PARIS / RECOMPENSES." Awardee "LEOPOLD / SCHOELLER" in raised letters at the center. Leopold Scholler had worsted spinning mills in Germany and Switzerland at the time. Edge marked (bee) and "ARGENT". Light wispy hairlines subdued by a choice pearl-gray finish with brighter silver tones emanating from the more protected areas. A couple of small edge nicks and a rim bump mentioned for accuracy. RARE with relatively few medals appearing from this exposition. NEARLY MINT STATE.
